Ubuntu 7.04 Feisty Fawn

Yes, I succumbed to temptation: I upgraded to the new version of Ubuntu (which I appreciate for months on the desktop) and I must say that the transition has been the almost painless.

The kernel has been updated to version 2.6.20-15-386, not known a faster start (after all my fault: I installed the impossible), but better management of the acceleration video is undeniable; finally on pirlino I can appreciate the novelty of gnome 2.18.

One measure, which is certainly not the sole prerogative of the Flybook, but the distro on all types of PCs, is to give, once updated sources.list with the feisty repo, repeatedly and at random commands

sudo apt-get autoclean

sudo apt-get update-f

sudo apt-get upgrade-f

sudo apt-get dist-upgrade-f

until it no longer offers update (After the first reboot apt-get dist-upgrade would give rise to a truncated distributions almost certainly broken or not working).

I would love to easing the whole point with another desktop-environment, now that I did a little 'experiments, say, type flux or xfce, but I know them a little, I have only heard and read a lot .... we'll see.

I keep you up-to-date, world!
